Rachael Gallap was named SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.
Rachael finished 35th overall with a time of 23:29 at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin on Saturday, helping the Hornets to a 14th-place finish overall.
Rachael started in 117th place out of over 300 runners and steadily moved up throughout the race. According to Coach Morrison, the course was in very rough condition with sections containing three to four inches of mud. Rachael was composed nad raced among the best in the Great Lakes Region and several others from across the nation.
This is Rachael's second Hornet of the Week honor this season.
The cross country teams are back in action Friday, Oct. 29 at the MIAA Championships hosted by Saint Mary's.
