KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team competed at the WMU Jack Shaw Invite at Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 10).
Starting with the 800m run, Paige Anderson (2:27.87) and Alison Hankins (2:29.26) finished fourth and fifth in the event. Zenaida Sackett also finished in the top 10 in ninth at 2:32.99. Anna Varitek (12th), Haleigh Nower (15th), Maya Alkema (16th), and Madison Magda (22nd) also ran.
Moving to the 1500m run, the trio of Hankins (4:56.08), Anderson (4:56.19), and Varitek (4:58.81) came in eighth, ninth, and 10th. Nower (18th), Alkema, and Maddie Hanulcik (24th) also participated.
Elise Elliot was the lone runner in the 5000m run, who ran a 20:26.28 and finished in 11th. The Hornets also had a team compete in the 4x400m relay as Anderson, Hankins, Sackett, and Varitek ran a 4:36.46 and came in fourth.
Kalamazoo will be back in action at the GVSU Al Owens Classic in Allendale, Mich., on Saturday (Apr. 22).
