Haleigh Nower of the Kalamazoo College cross country team was named the SAAC Women's Hornet of the Week on Wednesday (Sept. 13).
The Hornets ran at the Aurora Invite on Sept. 9 to begin the season and won the meet with 32 points, marking the first win for the program since 2005.
Nower was a part of a Kalamazoo trio that finished in the top 10 at the Aurora Invite, along with Paige Anderson and Alison Hankins. With a time of 24:42, Nower finished in sixth and broke her previous personal best of 27:47 that was set in 2021. This was her first race back after studying abroad last fall.
Kalamazoo will next run at the Wheaton Gil Dodds Invite on Saturday (Sept. 16).
