GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team competed in the Calvin Knight Invite on Friday (Sept. 29) at South Christian High School. The Hornets finished second out of six teams with 62 points in the 5k race.
Calvin won the event with 22 points, with Kalamazoo coming in second (62 points), Saint Mary's in third (67 points), Hope in fourth (101 points), Olivet in fifth (139 points), and Alma in sixth (151 points).
The Hornets had two top-10 finishers, as Paige Anderson came in third at 18:32, while Alison Hankins finished 10th at 19:12. Haleigh Nower also grabbed a top-20 finish in 19th with a time at 19:33.
Rounding out the scoring was Allison Nutt in 40th (20:14), Alisa Mason in 62nd (20:14), Cate Cotter in 86th (20:16), and Maddie Hanulcik in 111th (20:19).
Also running for the Hornets were Annalise Bailey (20:56), Maya Alkema (21:05), Zenaida Sackett (21:10), Lucy VanDemark (21:15), Grace McGlynn (21:36), Madi Magda (23:14), and Aliza Garcia (24:05).
Kalamazoo will have a week off before heading to Rock Island, Ill., to compete in the Augustana College Invite on Saturday (Oct. 14).
