Football falls 30-14 at Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College football team lost 30-14 at Olivet College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday.

Olivet led 14-0 at halftime and led 23-0 early in the fourth quarter. Kalamazoo got on the board with 10:48 left when Alex White scored on a 1-yard run to cap an 11-play drive.

Olivet scored five minutes later to go up 30-7. Kalamazoo made it 30-14 when Dan Grost scored on a 28-yard touchdown pass from White with 1:20 left in the game.

Olivet put up 332 yards of total offense while holding Kalamazoo to 198. Each team turned the ball over one time.

Shon Powell rushed for 88 yards on 19 carries for the Hornets.

Aaron McGuire was 7-of-10 passing for 62 yards while Alex White was 7-of-13 for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Dan Grost caught three passes for 50 yards with a touchdown. Alex Dietrich had five catches for 39 yards while Cameron Shegos and Powell each had three receptions.

Dylan Zerki led the Hornet defense with 17 total tackles and a fumble recovery. Connor Rzeznik had 13 tackles and forced a fumble.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Trine University next Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.
