Miller posts double-double as Hornets fall to Anderson

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 75-69 to Anderson University Saturday night.

Kalamazoo trailed by as many as 10 points (20-10) midway through the first half. After cutting the deficit to four (22-18), the visiting Ravens pulled ahead again by nine (29-20) before taking a 36-30 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo trailed 46-42 with 14:13 left in the second half before Anderson used an 11-0 run over the next five minutes to take its largest lead of the game (57-42) with 10:45 remaining. 

Kalamazoo had a run of its own (18-2) over the next six minutes to take a 60-59 lead at the 4:39 mark, but Anderson responded with a bucket on its next possession to regain the lead and did not relinquish it the rest of the way. Kalamazoo was still within five points (69-64) with 1:17 remaining, but could not get any closer before time expired.

Anderson shot 48.9 percent from the field while Kalamazoo finished at 40.7 percent. Kalamazoo held a 40-23 advantage in rebounds, including 18-5 on the offensive end.

Josh Miller recorded a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting.

Chase Baysdell was 9-for-11 at the free throw line and finished with 15 points and seven rebounds. Adam Dykema finished with 12 points and six rebounds.

Kalamazoo (1-1) returns to action Nov. 25-26 at the Oberlin (Ohio) Thanksgiving Classic.
