ALMA - The Kalamazoo College men's golf team finished third at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Alma College at Pine River on Saturday.

Kalamazoo shot 305 as a team, just five strokes behind co-leaders Calvin and Hope. The Hornets were two strokes better than Adrian (307) and four strokes ahead of Albion (309).

"We carried the momentum from our showing at Olivet to Pine River in Alma today," said Kalamazoo Head Coach Mitch Wilson. "It was a true team effort as we continue to get contributions from up and down our lineup."

Will Reichle and David Smith each shot 75 to lead Kalamazoo and tie for eighth overall.

Agron Ziberi shot a 77 while Jack Fowler finished with a 78.

"Will, David, and Agron played solid again today and Jack Fowler, playing in his first MIAA tourney, was great," Wilson added.

Kalamazoo is back in action on Monday, Sept. 23 when the Hornets host the next MIAA Jamboree at Kalamazoo Country Club beginning at 1 p.m.

"We hope to carry the momentum right into our home match at 1 p.m. Monday at Kalamazoo Country Club. We encourage the Hornet faithful to come out and support us!"
