Hornets defeat Adrian 3-1

Cal Kirchen playing soccer.
The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated conference opponent Adrian 3-1 on the road Saturday afternoon. This is the fourth straight victory for the Hornets who're now 6-4-2 this season, and 5-2-1 in conference play. The men have won their last three games by a combined total of 9-2.

The Hornets played a strong defensive game as a unit, allowing only five shots and one shot on goal. Adrian's one shot on goal wound up scoring, but it wouldn't matter as Kalamazoo really brought its offensive A-game.
Roger Mason Darling had his second multi-goal game of the year, scoring two goals in Saturday's win. Cal Kirchen put Kalamazoo on the board with a goal in the 21st minute off an assist from Kyle Hernandez. Six minutes later Hernandez would pick up another assist on Darling's first goal of the match.

The win is an example of how much the Hornets have improved over the course of this season, as the two teams tied 1-1 in Kalamazoo on Sept. 17. The Hornets were a much more hungry and organized team today.

The men will need to rest up because they will put their winning streak on the line Wednesday, Oct. 15 at home against the MIAA's current No. 1 Calvin.
