Hornets beat Britons 3-1

The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated Albion 3-1 on the road Saturday afternoon. The Hornets have now won six of their last eight games and hold an overall record 8-5-2 and a conference record of 6-3-1.

Cal Kirchen had a gigantic day for Kalamazoo. The sophomore scored a goal in both halves and brought his season goal total up to three. Fellow sophomore Kyle Hernandez added a goal too, his fourth of the year. Jory Finkelberg and Jordan Veillette both collected assists in the win.

The Hornets were on the attack for the large part of the contest, leading the Britons in shots on goal 11-3. Kalamazoo had four separate players with two or more shots on goal. Beau Prey made two saves, and let one ball get past him for a goal. The road win is a great rebound for Kalamazoo after losing for the first time in five games last week against Calvin.

The Hornets will look to improve off this win and will have their first chance Tuesday, Oct. 21 on the road against Olivet.
