KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Alma College 8-1 on Wednesday to finish the season undefeated in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play.

Kalamazoo swept the three doubles flights surrendering three or less games in each flight. Seniors Peter Rothstein and Alan Faber won first doubles 8-2 while sophomore Connor Dalton and freshman Alberto Ayala won third doubles by the same score. Senior Mike Korn and junior David DeSimone won second doubles 8-3.

DeSimone, freshman Spencer Navarre, and freshman Jacob Scott won third, fourth, and sixth singles respectively while only yielding one game each.

Korn won second singles 6-2, 6-0. Both Rothstein and sophomore Jeremy DePree lost the first set but battled back to win set two at first and fifth singles respectively. Because K had already clinched the match, a super tiebreaker was played to determine the winner of the third set in these two flights.

Rothstein won his 10-6 at second singles while DePree lost 10-2 at fifth singles.

Kalamazoo improves to 10-8 on the season and finishes conference play with a 6-0 mark. The Hornets will travel to Hope College this weekend for the MIAA Flighted Singles Tournament April 25-26.
