OLIVET - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 82-73 at No. 23 Olivet College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play on Wednesday.

Kalamazoo fell behind early and trailed by as many as 24 points late in the first half before heading into the break down 44-26.

Kalamazoo's deficit remained between 17 and 21 points during the first 14 minutes of the second half, but a 7-0 run by the Hornets made it a ten point game (74-64) with 3:41 remaining. Olivet scored the next four points to regain control. Kalamazoo made another late run to cut it to nine (80-71) with 37 seconds left, but the comeback effort ran out of time with the 82-73 final.

Olivet shot 41.8 percent overall after hitting 53.3 percent in the first half which helped the Comets jump out to the commanding lead. Olivet also made 20-of-29 free throws.

Kalamazoo shot 38.7 percent overall with 23-of-29 free throws.

Olivet outrebounded Kalamazoo 49-33, including 18-10 on the offensive end.

Nicole Antoine led Kalamazoo with 20 points and eight rebounds.

Perri (Weiderman) Nicholson scored 16 points with seven rebounds and four steals on 7-of-10 shooting.

India Hoskins went 5-for-5 at the free throw line and scored 14 points with three assists.

Querubin Dubois scored nine points off the bench while Emily Lindsay and Claire Slaughter each scored six points.

Kalamazoo returns home for Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 15 with a 1 p.m. start against Adrian.
