Women's lacrosse falls 19-2 at Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team fell at Denison 19-2 Sunday, Mar.23. The loss is Kalamazoo's first as a varsity program having won the first two games of the year.

Denison scored the first 11 goals of the game in just over 15 minutes. Kalamazoo then got on the board as Nicole Huff scored on a free position shot. Huff would add another goal at the 26:17 mark.

Gina Scala took the loss for the Hornets, but was credit with three saves. Denison took 28 shots in the game compared to 11 for Kalamazoo.

The Hornets did covert 10-15 clear attempts while Denison was 12-13. Denison also held the advantage in draw controls (18-5) and ground balls (22-11).

With the loss, Kalamazoo dips to 2-1 on the season. The Hornets return to action Mar. 26 for a game at Thiel followed by the home opener Saturday, Mar. 29 against Keuka.
