The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team defeated conference opponent Saint Mary's (Ind.) 2-1 on Thursday night. The Hornets are now 4-1 this season and 1-1 in conference play.

Kalamazoo got off to a quick start when sophomore Madeleine Chilcote scored off an assist from sophomore Suzanne Miller in the game's second minute. The Belles went on to tie the game in the 33rd minute and the teams went into halftime knotted up 1-1.

In the second half Hornet freshman Christina Dandar broke the tie with a goal in the 59th minute. Kalamazoo was able to hold the 2-1 lead for the rest of the game. Kalamazoo was much more aggressive than Saint Mary's offensively, and took five more shots than Saint Mary's on goal (9-4).

The Hornets will look to keep this conference winning streak alive Saturday, Sept 13 against Albion College at home.
