KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the young season with 9-0 sweep of Baldwin Wallace University (Ohio) Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Markin Center.

Kalamazoo won all three doubles flights. Sophomore Sarah Woods and senior Jenna Riehl teamed up to win first doubles 8-1. Senior Kelsey Moran and sophomore Ania Latala won second doubles 8-2 while freshman Sabrina Dass and junior Olivia Bouchard won 8-3 at third doubles.

"We played better this week than last week," Kalamazoo Head Coach Mark Murphy said. "Doubles is improving every week. Being up 3-0 after doubles is a nice luxury to have going into singles."

Leading 3-0 after doubles Kalamazoo needed just two wins in singles to clinch the match. The Hornets did that and more, winning all six singles flights.

Riehl was the first off the court defeating Morgan Baker 6-0, 6-0. Woods won her flight and the match for K defeating Kelsey Blatt 6-1, 6-1 at first singles.

Dass was the next to finish winning 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles over Mackenzie Donalson while Moran finished just after winning third singles 6-0, 6-0.

Latala won fifth singles 6-1, 6-0 and Bouchard defeated Whitney Yoder 6-3, 7-5 at sixth singles.

"Everyone played really well today," Murphy said. "Senior Kelsey Moran came out and played outstanding. Freshman Sabrina Dass played a great singles match as well."

Kalamazoo takes the court again Feb. 23 at 2:00 p.m. for a home match against the University of Chicago.
