Baseball Wins Second Game vs. Thomas

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team split a doubleheader with Thomas College on Thursday in the Hornets' final two games in Florida.

Game One

Thomas won the opener 5-3. The Terriers scored a run in the top of the first inning, but the Hornets evened the score with a run on a sacrifice fly by Zach Prystash.

Kalamazoo went up 2-1 in the second when George Cutler doubled home Brendan Gausselin.

Thomas evened the score in the third before pulling ahead with two runs in the fifth. Kalamazoo made it a 4-3 game in the sixth, but Thomas scored again in the top of the seventh while holding Kalamazoo scoreless in the final inning.

Jordan Wiley was 2-for-4 with a pair of stolen bases and a run scored.

George Cutler had a double and an RBI.

Game Two

Kalamazoo won the second game 6-1.

Kalamazoo got on the board first with three runs in the top of the third inning. The Hornets added runs in the fourth and fifth innings to go up 6-0 before finally allowing just one run in the bottom of the seventh.

Luke Kastran earned the win in relief.

Alex Fultz had two hits including a double with an RBI. Max Moran also had two hits with an RBI.

Jordan Wiley had a double with a stolen base and an RBI. Blake Bean and Chase Coselman both had a double and an RBI.

Kalamazoo is scheduled to travel to Adrian for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 30 beginning at 1 p.m.
