KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Doug Propson of the Kalamazoo College baseball team was named this week's Men's SAAC Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.
The Hornets went 5-1 last week in a six-game series with Olivet.
Propson, a junior from Rochester, Mich. (Stoney Creek HS) went 9-for-20 (.450) at the plate over the six games with one double, two triples, and one home run. He tallied 13 RBIs for the Hornets and scored 11 runs.
On the mound, Propson made two appearances in relief and struck out six batters, allowing just two hits and a walk and kept the win both times with no opponent runs scored.
Doug sits at the top of the Hornet leaderboard in several categories this season. He has recorded 32 hits, four triples and five home runs, all team bests. He also leads the pack in runs scored with 34 and stolen bases with a total of 13. In the circle, he is 2-0 with four saves and 30 strikeouts.
The Hornets travel to Alma on Friday, April 30 for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
