Noah Coplan earned Academic All-America Second Team honors as announced by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) on Wednesday. He was an Academic All-District selection the past two seasons.

From River Forest, Ill. (Oak Park & River Forest HS), Coplan wrapped up his career on the Hornet football team in March. He received All-MIAA First Team honors for the third time as a defensive lineman and was named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society.

Coplan totaled nine tackles over two games in the shortened 2021 season while maintaining a 3.71 GPA as a business major at the time of the nomination. He graduated in June with a 3.73 cumulative GPA.

Last year he recorded 56 tackles and was second on the team in tackles for loss (9.5) and sacks (5.5). Coplan finished his career with 124 tackles, 11.5 sacks, and 21 tackles for loss.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America program honors players for their performances both on the field and in the classroom. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's program was based on career statistics rather than just the current season.

Coplan is the 45th Kalamazoo College student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors. This is the 10th Academic All-America honor earned by a Hornet football player.
