GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In the final game of the Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team's inaugural season, the Hornets hoped to end on a high note as they traveled to Calvin College.

Despite jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter, Kalamazoo fell to the Knights, 12-4.

Hans Wieland and Zach Morales gave the Hornets an early lead with back-to-back goals, but a stretch of nine straight goals thereafter from the Knights proved to be too much for Kalamazoo to overcome.

Brett Fitzgerald and Kellen Radulski hoped to get Kalamazoo back into the game with back-to-back goals ending the third quarter and beginning the fourth, but that's as close as the Hornets would get to completing the comeback.

Michael Dutcher and Andrew Frye combined to make nine saves in the game for Kalamazoo.

The Hornets held a slight 42-39 edge in ground balls and committed three fewer turnovers than the Knights.
