Men's Lacrosse Falls at Concordia Wisconsin

MEQUON, Wis. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team lost 13-6 at Concordia University Wisconsin on Monday. 

The Falcons scored first just over two minutes into the contest. Kalamazoo tied it up at the 4:40 mark before taking a 2-1 lead with 2:14 left in the first.

Kalamazoo scored the only goal of the second quarter with 13:28 remaining, taking the 3-1 lead all the way into halftime.

After scoring just four goals in the first half, Kalamazoo and Concordia combined for 11 goals in the third quarter. Kalamazoo scored first just eight seconds in to take a 4-1 lead. the Falcons responded with three goals over the next two and a half minutes to tie the game at 4-4. Kalamazoo scored with 9:31 left to regain the lead, only to see Concordia score three goals in the span of 1:01 to take a 7-5 lead. Kalamazoo made it 7-6 with a goal at 3:36, but Concordia scored twice in the final three minutes to lead 9-6 at the end of three.

The Falcons scored 31 seconds into the fourth and scored three times in the first five minutes to go up 12-6. Concordia added a final goal with 2:13 remaining to win 13-6.

Concordia outshot Kalamazoo 53-44 overall, 32-25 on goal. Kalamazoo outshot Concordia 26-16 in the first half, but was outshot 37-18 in the second half. Concordia won 11 of the 21 faceoffs. Kalamazoo gained 41 ground balls to Concordia's 35.

Ryan Warezak led the Hornets with three goals, five ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Jack Jesko scored a goal with two assists, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Dylan Wickey made 18 saves in goal with seven ground balls.

Kalamazoo is back home Saturday, April 1, when the Hornets host Aurora University at 1 p.m.
