Men's Lacrosse Falls to Aurora

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team was defeated 16-3 by Aurora University at home Sunday afternoon.

Kalamazoo scored the first goal a minute and 28 seconds into the game. Aurora evened the score with 10:42 remaining. Kalamazoo scored again with 2:13 left and led 2-1 at the end of the first quarter.

Aurora's offense exploded in the second quarter with three goals in the first four minutes. The Spartans scored two more goals in the final 2:10 to take a 6-2 lead into halftime. 

Aurora went up 9-2 in the third before Jack Jesko's goal with 3:36 remaining made it 9-3. Aurora scored three more times to lead 12-3 at the end of the third quarter. Aurora scored the only four goals in the fourth leading to the 16-3 final.

Aurora outshot Kalamazoo 44-25 overall, 31-18 on goal. The Spartans won 17-of-22 faceoffs and held a 46-36 advantage in ground balls.

Vincent Tremonti, Jake Asnis and Jack Jesko each scored for Kalamazoo. Jesko and Ronin Honda each had an assist.

Kalamazoo opens MIAA play at home on Saturday, April 8 at 4 p.m.
