Men's Lacrosse Drops MIAA Opener to Adrian

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team lost its MIAA opener 19-9 to Adrian College at home on Saturday.

Adrian scored the first four goals of the game and led 6-1 at the end of the first quarter. After going up 10-1 in the second, Kalamazoo scored late to make it a 10-2 game at halftime.

The Bulldogs scored seven in the third to go up 17-2. Kalamazoo scored six straight to start the fourth to make it 17-8. Each team scored twice in the final seven minutes leading to the 19-9 final.

Kalamazoo outshot Adrian 42-34 overall, 29-26 on goal. Adrian's goalkeepers combined for 20 saves in the contest.

Adrian held a 39-37 edge in ground balls. Each team won 16 of 32 faceoffs.

Logan Gillis led Kalamazoo with three goals. Jack Jesko scored twice.

Ronin Honda had two assists with four ground balls. Jake Asnis scored once, had an assist, and three ground balls. Jack Bungart had an assist and a team-high seven ground balls.

Kalamazoo returns to action at Alma next Saturday, April 15, at 4 p.m.
