ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team was defeated 22-10 in an MIAA Tournament semifnial at Albion College Wednesday night.
Albion scored the first four goals of the contest before Kalamazoo scored three straight to make it 4-3 with 5:28 left in the first quarter. Albion scored a pair of goals in the final three minutes to take a 6-3 lead at the end of one.
Kalamazoo trailed 7-5 early in the second before Albion scored seven of the next eight goals to take a 14-6 lead into halftime.
After Kalamazoo scored to start the third, Albion scored four of the next five to go up 10 (18-8) after three. Albion outscored Kalamazoo 4-2 in the fourth.
The top-seeded Britons outshot Kalamazoo 62-4 overall, 40-19 on goal.
Albion won 21 of the 33 faceoffs.
Jake Asnis led the Hornets with five goals and an assist.
Ryan Warezak scored twice. Jack Jesko and Vincent Tremonti each had a goal and an assist.
Ronin Honda was credited with three assists.
Kalamazoo's season ends with a record of 7-8 overall (3-3 MIAA), the most wins in program history.
