ALBION, Mich. – Looking to get back at the Albion College Britons after a close loss earlier this season and advance to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association final, the Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse fell just short Thursday evening at Sprankle Sprandel Stadium.

The Britons defeated the Hornets, 8-7.

Kalamazoo's attack started the game with significant energy much in part due to the play of Alivia DuQuet. The junior from Northville recorded a hat trick in the first seven minutes of the game and allowed K to jump out to a 3-1 lead.

After Albion tacked on a goal at the 21:40 mark, Kalamazoo closed the first half with goals from Hannah Meyers and Da Bin Lee to take a 5-2 lead into halftime.

Two minutes into the second half Nicole Huff extended the Hornet lead to four, its largest of the game, but Albion began to make its move shortly thereafter.

The Britons scored six of the last seven goals in the game down the stretch and netted their game winner with 1:13 remaining in regulation.

DuQuet ended the evening with a team high four goals. Katie Johnson, recently named the MIAA's Defensive Player of the Year, made 18 saves, tying a season high. She recorded a .692 save percentage.

Nicole Huff and Elizabeth Arellano each picked up four ground balls for K.
