KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Destiny Garcia of the women's soccer team was recognized on Tuesday by the Kalamazoo College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as this week's Hornet of the week.
The freshman from Chicago, Ill. (DePaul Prep) played a key role in Kalamazoo's two wins last week. Starting in both contests, she began the week with a goal in the team's 2-0 win over defending MIAA Champion Adrian. On Friday, she scored the opening goal in what was eventually a 3-0 victory over Alma. Garcia's two goals are the most of any player so far this season.
This is Garcia's first time being named Hornet of the Week.
The Hornets are next scheduled to host Olivet on April 6 at 7 p.m.
