Kalamazoo Highlights
Caroline Norton won her opening singles match 6-0, 6-1 over Ysabel Gonzaga (Elmhurst) Thursday morning. Norton then lost in the Round of 32 to No. 9 Leah Newhof (Hope) 6-4, 6-4.
Laura Hanselman won her first singles match 6-3, 6-4 over Leeza Bodnar (Lake Forest). Hanselman was then defeated 6-0, 6-3 by No. 9 Sydney Jackson (Hope).
Maddy Winarski lost her first match, but won her first match in the consolation draw 7-5, 6-1 over Tebatso Duba (Lake Forest). She lost in the consolation quarterfinals on Friday 6-3, 6-0 to Megan Collins (Kenyon).
On Friday, Hanselman/Norton defeated Duba/Miller (Lake Forest) 8-7(5) in the first round of consolations before falling 8-7(2) to DeLeon/Marks (Allegheny) in the consolation quarterfinals.
