Morgan Lemner was introduced as Kalamazoo College's head women's volleyball coach today.

Lemner comes to Kalamazoo College from Carthage College (Wis.), where she was a graduate assistant women's volleyball coach for the past two seasons. Lemner helped the Firebirds to a 21-9 record in 2022 (6-2 CCIW), an 18-13 record in 2023 (5-3 CCIW), and back-to-back CCIW Tournament runner-up finishes. Lemner helped coach six All-CCIW selections in two seasons in a program that earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award last year. Working primarily with the liberos and pin attackers, Carthage finished the season ranked 14th in NCAA Division III in total blocks and 20th in blocks per set. Lemner also coordinated recruiting, team travel, scouting, film, statistics, and social media for the Firebirds.

"It's an honor to be named head volleyball coach at Kalamazoo College," Lemner said. "From the minute I stepped on campus, K felt like home. As I learned more about Kalamazoo College and its surrounding community, I became incredibly passionate about my vision and becoming a community member. I am excited about the opportunity and look forward to building relationships with the student-athletes while creating a competitive culture."

In addition to coaching at Carthage, Lemner worked with the Wisconsin Juniors Volleyball Club from 2017-2023 as head coach of 17-Elite, 14-Elite and 12-1. She also led the program's strength and conditioning efforts and was elevated to a program director in 2022.

Lemner graduated from Alverno College in 2020 with an honors degree in communication and creative writing. A starting libero and three-year captain for the Inferno, Lemner led the team in digs while compiling 883 career digs in three seasons. She ranks fourth in program history in career digs, sixth and 10th for single-season digs in 2018 and 2019, respectively, and second for most digs in a match (34). She also ranks sixth all-time in career aces and eighth in single-season aces (2019). Lemner also served as vice president of Alverno's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Lemner is pursuing a master's degree in education and sport leadership at Carthage.

Lemner is scheduled to begin at Kalamazoo College on January 2, 2024.
