Men's Golf finishes second behind Smith's 71

The Kalamazoo College men's golf team finished in second place for the second consecutive Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree, just two strokes behind first place Calvin. The Hornets combined to shoot a team score of 304 at the Kalamazoo Country Club.

David Smith led the way for K with an even-par 71, placing him second individually. Trine's Connor Dwyer led the field with a one-under 70.

Nick Ludka finished his day just off of Smith's pace, recording a final score of 72. Ludka tied for third.

Rounding out the top four for the Hornets were Travis Veenhuis and Riley Boyd. Veenhuis recorded an 80 with Boyd recording an 81.

Ben Bloomfield shot an 86 for Kalamazoo.

With its lone home event of the season in the past, Kalamazoo will head back on the road this Saturday when the Hornets travel to Trine University for the fifth MIAA Jamboree of the season. Tee time is set for 1 p.m.
