Henry Plumstead of the Kalamazoo College men's soccer team was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday (Oct. 16). This is the first time the sophomore has earned the honor.
The Hornets continued their MIAA schedule with a road game at Hope on Oct. 11 and a home game against Alma on Oct. 14. Kalamazoo fell to the Flying Dutchmen 2-1 before defeating Alma 3-1 for its first MIAA win of 2023.
In two games, Plumstead had five shots on goal, with two ending up in the back of the net against Alma. The first goal came in the 20th minute against the Scots, with the second and eventual game-winner coming in the 57th minute to go up 2-0. On the season, Plumstead leads the team with 14 points on six goals and two assists. He is tied for the team lead with six goals with one game-winning goal. For his career, Plumstead has played in 32 games, totaling 17 points on seven goals and three assists.
Kalamazoo will continue conference play with a road game on Tuesday (Oct. 17) at Adrian and a home game against Calvin on Saturday (Oct. 21).
