The 2023 Kalamazoo College men's soccer seniors have selected their Most Valuable Professors to recognize this season. These Most Valuable Professors were recognized before the home soccer game on Oct. 14.

The Hornets selected Professor Amy MacMillan and Dr. Santiago Salinas.

Luke Bormann, Michele Alia, and Aidan Baas selected Professor Amy MacMillan from the Business Department as their MVP. The three seniors chose her for her deep knowledge of the subject matter and exceptional character. Professor MacMillan's approachability and willingness to engage in meaningful discussions inside and outside the classroom have fostered an environment where questions are encouraged and curiosity is celebrated. Her strong work ethic and dedication to her craft are a constant source of inspiration. Those who have her in class will be well prepared for the real world thanks to Professor MacMillan's innovative teaching approach, which emphasizes intentional learning and cultivates a professional business mindset.

The next MVP was Dr. Santiago Salinas from the Biology Department, whom Shun Yonehara selected. Yonehara chose Dr. Salinas because of his impact on his college career as a professor as well as his advisor. Dr. Salinas has been present and helpful, connecting with him on many different levels, especially in the field of biology and soccer. Dr Salinas has also guided his senior integrated project, and Yonehara would not be in his current position without him.

On behalf of the athletic department, THANK YOU to these Most Valuable Professors for positively influencing our student-athletes. Your work is greatly appreciated!

Kalamazoo College senior athletes have the opportunity to recognize their Most Valuable Professors throughout the 2023-24 season.
