Women's Basketball Falls at Saint Mary's

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team dropped its game at Saint Mary's as the Belles came through victorious 71-58.

The Hornets and Belles played a close first half as Kalamazoo was up by as many as six in the first quarter and held a 16-15 lead at the end of it. The teams traded leads during the second quarter, but Saint Mary's took a 31-24 lead into the halftime break. 

The Belles outscored the Hornets 23-15 in the third quarter while Kalamazoo worked a two-point advantage in the fourth quarter while holding Saint Mary's scoreless in the final 5:53. 

Kalamazoo shot 22 of 57 from the field while connected on six of 19 three-pointers. The Hornet defense accounted for seven blocked shots and four steals. 

Kaytlyn Tidey led the scoring attack with 18 points and added three rebounds and three assists. 

Isabelle Clark added 17 points while Sierra Fraser posted 10 points and eight rebounds. 

Georgie Andrews had a team-high nine rebounds and added nine points of her own. 

The Hornets return to action on Saturday, Jan. 25 when they host Trine at 3 p.m.
