Women's Basketball Defeated by Adrian

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated by Adrian 75-56 at home on Wednesday.

After falling behind early, Kalamazoo led 16-15 at the end of the first quarter. The Hornets led by as many as seven (22-15) with 7:34 left in the second but trailed 33-32 at halftime.

Adrian outscored Kalamazoo 19-9 in the third. The Hornets were within 13 (61-48) with 5:16 remaining but were unable to get any closer in the loss.

Adrian shot 50.9 percent overall while holding Kalamazoo to 35.6 percent. The Bulldogs made 6-of-11 three-points compared to 6-of-17 by Kalamazoo. Adrian also made 15-of-22 free throws compared to 8-of-13 by Kalamazoo. Adrian held a 36-33 advantage in total rebounds. Kalamazoo outrebounded Adrian 10-6 on the offensive end.

Ruby Hogan led the Hornets with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Taylor Dinda scored a career-high 10 points while making 3-of-4 three's. 

Jackie Brines scored eight points with seven rebounds. Josee Cooke and Brittany Miller also scored eight points apiece.

Jordan Wesaw finished with seven points and five rebounds.

Kalamazoo travels to Olivet next on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m.
