Women's Basketball Defeated at Home by Albion

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 69-44 at home by Albion College on Wednesday. 

Kalamazoo trailed by eight points (10-2) to start the game and trailed 18-11 at the end of the first quarter. The Hornets cut the deficit to five twice in the second quarter before going into halftime down 29-21.

The Hornets also came within five twice in the third quarter but trailed 51-32 at the end of three. The Britons outscored Kalamazoo 18-12 in the fourth to seal the win.

Albion shot 40.6 percent overall while holding Kalamazoo to 33.3 percent. Albion made 1-of-10 three-pointers, while Kalamazoo made 3-of-22. The Britons sank 12-of-21 free throws compared to 5-of-7 by the Hornets.

Albion outrebounded Kalamazoo 49-33 overall, 21-9 on the offensive end.

Kaelyn Arlington led the Hornets with 10 points and five rebounds.

Jordan Wesaw finished with eight points. Ruby Hogan scored six points with six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals. Jackie Brines scored six points with three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Brittany Miller scored five points with three rebounds. Taylor Dinda aded four points with a team-high seven rebounds. 

Kalamazoo takes on Saint Mary's next at home on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m.
