HANOVER, Ind. – Beginning a three-game spring break road trip Thursday afternoon, the Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team lost a tight one, 7-6, at Hanover College.

After Hanover scored the game's first goal just 45 seconds into the first half, Kalamazoo regrouped. Over the next 12 minutes of play the Hornets scored three straight goals including two in a row from Amanda Moss at the 26:40 and 25:43 marks.

Anna Dairaghi recorded K's third goal on an assist from Caroline Mundell before Hanover scored back-to-back goals to end the half.

Hanover once again broke the deadlock to start the second half but Nicole Huff quickly countered for K leveling the score at four apiece with 25:15 to play.

Despite Hanover scoring two quick goals to take a 6-4 lead, the Hornets continued to battle as Hannah Myers cut the deficit to one before Moss tacked on her third goal of the day and leveled the score.

It was Hanover's Mallory Fogus who notched the game-winning goal with 7:18 to play in regulation.

Kalamazoo was strong in the ground ball category picking up four more than Hanover for 25 total, but the Hornets were only able to convert on 11 of their 22 clear attempts.

K will continue its spring break trip tomorrow afternoon when they faceoff against Centre College at 7 p.m.
