KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team defeatd Alma College 9-0 in the MIAA opener for both teams Saturday afternoon inside the Markin Center.
Kalamazoo won the three doubles matches easily before winning all six singles matches.
Renee Torres/Sophie Zhuang won 8-1 at one doubles. Maddie Hurley/Meghan Killmaster won 8-2 at two. Rebecca Elias/Soussana Kimbouris won 8-1 at three.
Torres (1), Killmaster (3), Hurley (4), Eleni Bougioukou (5) and Elias (6) each won in straight sets.
Killmaster did not lose a game, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Zhuang overcame a loss in the first set to win 4-6, 6-1, 10-6.
Kalamazoo travels to Albion on Wednesday, March 15, before heading down to Florida for four matches during spring break.
