ORLANDO, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team defeated Salisbury University 5-4 Sunday afternoon.
The Hornets led 2-1 after 8-2 wins at one doubles (Sophie Zhuang/Renee Torres) and two doubles (Ivy Walker/Meghan Killmaster).
Torres and Zhuang both won in straight sets at one and two singles, respectively, but the Salisbury Sea Gulls earned wins at three, four and six singles to make it 4-4.
After losing the first set, Soussana Kimbouris rebounded to win her match 4-6, 7-6(2), 10-4, and clinch the match for the Hornets.
Playing without four starters this afternoon, Kalamazoo improved to 5-4 on the season. Salisbury dropped to 4-3.
Kalamazoo returns to action Tuesday, March 21 with matches against Huntingdon and Trinity (Conn.) in Orlando,
