Baseball Honors Most Valuable Professors

Seniors Thomas Sylvester, Brenden Oprinski, and Harrison Poeszat with their Most Valuable Professors, Professor Tim Moffit and Dr. Jennifer Furchak (not pictured).

The 2022-2023 Kalamazoo College baseball seniors have selected their Most Valuable Professors to recognize this season.

The Hornets selected Professor Tim Moffit and Dr. Jennifer Furchak.

Our first Most Valuable Professor is Professor Tim Moffit from the Business & Economics Department, selected by Thomas Sylvester and Brenden Oprinski. Thomas learned a great deal in his class and found the work applicable to the real world, better preparing him for his career. He also appreciates Professor Moffit's willingness to be his Senior Integrated Project advisor and his guidance in completing that large project. Brenden selected Professor Moffit as his MVP for his down-to-earth personality and his ability to really connect with students. He cares about more than just the class material but also about getting to know his students for who they are. Brenden feels lucky to have met Professor Moffit and to have the bond they've created over his four years as a student.

Harrison Poeszat selected Dr. Jennifer Furchak from the Chemistry Department to recognize as his MVP. Unfortunately, Dr. Furchak had a conflict and couldn't attend the ceremony. Harrison selected Dr. Furchak because she is a caring and understanding person. He appreciates her caring about his general well-being rather than just what he is learning in class. Harrison is grateful to have learned so much chemistry knowledge from Dr. Furchak but also grateful to have learned so much about relationships and checking in on those you care about.

Kalamazoo College senior athletes have the opportunity to recognize their Most Valuable Professors throughout the 2022-2023 season.
