KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In a game filled with 11 lead changes and six ties, the Kalamazoo College men's basketball team came away on the wrong end of a back-and-forth game inside Anderson Athletic Center Sundaay afternoon against Manchester University. The Spartans defeated the Hornets 78-67.

After going down 19-10 at the 13:33 mark of the first half, Kalamazoo battled back to take a 34-29 lead with 3:08 remaining in the first. A late three pointer from Brody Kirby gave the Spartans a 38-37 lead heading into halftime.

A layup from Josh Miller and a three ball from Cam Schwartz early in the second half gave the Hornets a 42-38 lead at the 18:24 mark, but K was unable to seal the deal as its shooting was off the mark down the stretch.

Down by just one with 7:34 remaining, Kalamazoo was unable to hold off the strong shooting Spartans as a 16-2 run over the next six minutes proved to be the deciding sequence.

Chase Baysdell did his part for the Hornets coming up just one rebound short of a double-double. He ended the day with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Demarco Dickerson and Josh Miller also scored in double figures for the Hornets, tallying 12 and 10, respectively.

Kalamazoo will square off against Bluffton on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at Anderson Athletic Center before hitting the road for the rest of the month. Tip-off for Wednesday's game is set for 8 p.m.
