Men's Tennis Defeats Trine to Advance to MIAA Tournament Championship

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Trine 5-1 in an MIAA Tournament semifinal match Thursday afternoon at Stowe Stadium. With the win, Kalamazoo advances to the MIAA Tournament championship match against Hope College Saturday, April 29, at Stowe Stadium.

Kalamazoo swept the three doubles matches against Trine on Thursday before winning two singles matches to clinch the match.

Peter Fitzgerald/Gabe Vidinas won 8-1 at one doubles. Casey Johnson/Adnan Alousi won 8-4 at two. Parker Foster/Louis Landreau won 8-4 at three.

Trine picked up a win at six singles. Louis Landreau won 6-2, 6-0 at five. Casey Johnson won 6-0, 6-2 at four.

Gabe Vidinas, Peter Fitzgerald and Adnan Alousi had each won their first set and were ahead in the second set when the match was decided.

The winner of Saturday's championship match earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championships.
