Women's Soccer tripped up at Albion

Lillian Schmidt playing soccer.

ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer was defeated on the road 1-0 by Albion Wednesday night.

Albion's Emily Brittain scored the game's only goal in the 39th minute, finishing off an assist from Riley Burnette. Kalamazoo took nine shots in the game, but was unable to find an equalizer in the second half. Madison Moote led the Hornets offensively with four of those shots.

"Credit to Albion as they were a step quicker from the opening whistle and we were really fighting to play catch up throughout the first half," said Coach Bryan Goyings. "I thought we had a strong response after the goal and Maddie Odom and Lillian Schmidt were bright spots, but we have to improve our game intelligence."

Odom recorded four saves in goal for the Hornets in the loss.

Kalamazoo will return home to take on Adrian on Saturday at 3 p.m.
