KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team lost its season opener 6-3 to Davenport University inside the Markin Center on Saturday.
The Hornets won two of the three doubles matches, but Davenport took five of the six singles matches to win the match.
Maddie Hurley/Caroline Norton won 8-3 at two doubles, while Ella Knight/Meghan Killmaster won 8-3 at three doubles.
Ella Knight won 5-7, 6-1, 10-3 at five singles.
Norton, Sophie Zhuang, Hurley, and Killmaster were each defeated in three sets in singles.
The Hornets are back in action at home against Case Western Reserve next Friday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m.
